A Lonely White Parakeet - Critter 88 | Tanza Erlambang Update

Parakeets are not native bird of our state, Louisiana. They come from other countries about hundred years ago.

We saw a lonely white parakeet close by our neighborhood area. We believe it is a pet belongs to a neighbor.

This bird is one of popular pets in our city. People love this pet, based on internet resources, it is because of some reasons that are:

- social bird

- colorful

- small size

- could bring happiness

Who interests with Parakeet may find it in the pet shops for adoption with reasonable price in the city.

I don't guess I have seen a white one, but yes, someone in our family loves birds for pets. And unfortunately, they can get out into the wild. I hope this one found it's way home.

A white one parakeet I have never seen before but its also a special one. Here, parakeets are no longer allowed to be sold in pet shops because they sometimes release them. And in the amsterdam forest in the Netherlands, there are a lot of them now. The first group of parakeets in Amsterdam was observed in 1976 . It was suspected even then that they were descendants of pets released by their owners. So its not aloud here anymore to be sold.

While I have seen many parakeet, I'm not sure I have ever seen a white one...perhaps one time at our local zoo. The family across the street from us has one and occasionally I hear it whistle. They are fun to listen to... Happy New Year to you and yours...

I had a little parakeet for a pet when I was little. It made a good pet. My brother and I taught it many tricks. They do come in man colors. Ours was yellow. Unfortunately, this one probably escaped out the house. I hope the owner found him. Happy New Year!!
