We have several libraries around our neighborhood, the biggest one is the city library. Our memberships is almost for 20 years.
The library was opened in 1942, about 82 years ago, boasts the intertwine between cultural and social of our city. It opens every day, from Monday to Sunday. The services are little bit shorter on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
It has 3 floors, a house for 500,000 of:
- books
- electronic resources
- movies
- and collections of artworks
The city library is an amazing facility with so many offerings. The neighborhood is surely fortunate to have such a place available to all.
It offers a lot of programs, events and classes (studies) for all ages. These activities are varying from season to season.
programs, events and classes include:
- kids story
- computer classes
- book clubs
- author and illustration programs.
We just spend hours in the library every summer. We had to put a number limit on how many books came home with every time. So, we would know how many they should have return.
The signs are a nice way to show our appreciation and support for our libraries during this time that they seem to be undervalued. The signs are free and are inside the lobby of the library.
How about with your library? or libraries around your neighborhood?

Love the little library at neighborhood 📚
ReplyDeleteOh..we are building a new library. Ours was full of bad wiring from the 70's, but we have had a library around from the 1880s and it has moved and grown. Yes, our maker's space is taking off too. Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteWonderful to hear about your library. Yes, please support the library. Donations from money to books and DVDs help our collection. Just make sure it is in good condition. A lot of donations end up in recyling or off to Salvation Army that have been in the basement too long. Yes, many are going digital, but some love a good book to hold and we have lots of programs for the little ones as well as our Seniors.
ReplyDeleteyes, we should support library in many ways....

Sounds like a wonderful library!
ReplyDeleteLibraries are awesome. When my kids were young, we'd visit all the time. Now I do story times at them. It's great to encourage the love of reading with kids by visiting local libraries. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteIndeed...

Libraries are so important, and not just because they're great repositories of knowledge! They provide so much more: safe and warm spaces to congregate, essential services, Internet connections. The world is a better place because of libraries.
