By reading the sign "Jumbo Green Peanuts," we thought that the market is selling Jumbo Green Peanuts, but no, no single green peanut.
Inside the market, we saw there are plenty of pumpkins, they are different in sizes (weight), colors and varieties.
Yes, we are in Halloween season now. We expect to celebrate Halloween by Tuesday, October 31, 2023. Selling of pumpkins is profitable business for individual or farmers in our areas or city.
People use pumpkins for decoration and food (pie, bread, muffin, soup, roasted pumpkin etc.) during this season, and they are willing to pay with higher price for both fresh and premium quality of pumpkins.
There are many varieties of pumpkins in our areas. Just few of them are Lumina, New moon, Autumn gold and Cinderella.
How many types of pumpkins in your areas?

ReplyDeleteI saw lots of pumpkins recently at the pumpkin patch near here. They sell a lot of donuts and pies too! & used those pumkins for all sorts of fun stuff too.

As a child, I grew spanish peanuts and dried them out after they were dug up. Living in the south now, we bought fresh boiled peanuts that are sold on the roadside every year. They are not a taste I care for. Pumpkins I love, but I think most people buy them as decoration that soon wrinkle and begin to rot. We made a jack-o-lantern one Halloween, with its features cut out with a knife. Raw pumpkins are as shard as rocks, and it took us forever to cut out the eyes and mouth. Never again. I do like the green pumpkins, as they look different, and I'm told taste different. Thank you for visiting my post and leaving a comment.
ReplyDeletegreat to grow Spanish peanuts....love any peanuts....

So are they hiring pumpkins or selling them?
ReplyDeleteWe have so many different kinds of pumpkins and gourds. It is so nice and festive to decorate the yard and house with them. The kids love to cut faces out on them as well! Happy Halloween!
