There are plenty of Mexican foods sold commercially in the USA. You probably know or ever consume some of them:
- Tamale
- Tacos
- Tostadas
- Chiles en nogada
- Enchiladas
- Nachos
One of my favorites is a Tamale. The way its cook is interesting for me, it is steamed with wrapping.
The “material” for wrapping is taken from nature, it could be one of these natural materials:
- banana leaf

The tamales look gorgeous to eat
ReplyDelete...when I owned my nursery, many of my Mexican workers would share tamales at lunch time, what a treat.
ReplyDeleteWhere I grew up in Texas it was more of a holiday treat around Christmas..back then the lady I knew would start them around October, but there are some much more quick recipes I'm sure. Our retired director from where I work makes them during the holidays with his mother's recipe and that it always a treat.

I will confess I'm not that fond of them. I'd rather have enchiladas. A good cheese enchilada can be hard to find in the heartland since most traditional Mexican foods here are made with flour tortillas....instead of corn tortillas. Oddly, we live in corn husker country. Go figure.
